Could face sanctions
Minner could potentially face a suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) due to his failure to disclose an injury in advance of his UFC Vegas 64 loss to Shayilan Nuerdanbieke, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Minner has been the talk of the MMA betting world of late, as he opened as a slight underdog of approximately (+170) for the fight against Nuerdanbieke. Then, on fight night, odds shifted dramatically without explanation, resulting in Minner closing as high as a (+330) underdog. It was later revealed that Minner was likely hiding an injury, and a leak from his camp is most likely what caused the line movement towards his opponent. The NAC did establish precedent for this type of penalty during Tuesday's hearing, as it suspended Ilir Latifi three months for failing to disclose a staph infection prior to his fight in October against Aleksei Oleinik. The difference here is that Latifi won his fight and there wasn't much noticeable line movement, while Minner was quickly defeated via first-round finish. Expect the NAC to issue a ruling on Minner's status when the committee meets again in December.

Losing streak hits three
Minner lost to Shayilan Nuerdanbieke via TKO (elbows) at 1:07 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It seems as if we have seen an increase of in-fight injuries over the course of the past few months, with Minner being the latest victim. Darrick connected on a body kick less than a minute into the bout and appeared to hurt either his leg or knee in the process. Nuerdanbieke took advantage of the opening and pressed forward with everything but the kitchen sink until referee Mark Smith had finally seen enough. It's a crushing defeat for Minner, who entered the fight on the heels of back-to-back losses to Ryan Hall and Darren Elkins. It's far from a guarantee the 32-year-old Nebraska native is going to be granted another opportunity with the company. He may be facing sanctions from the Nevada Athletic Commission as well for failing to disclose his injury, as there was notable line movement in the direction of Nuerdanbieke before the fight that will draw questions from regulators.

Books Oct. 5 matchup
Minner (undisclosed) will now take on Shayilan Nuerdanbieke in a featherweight matchup at UFC Vegas 64 on Nov. 5, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Looking to bounce back from a two-fight losing streak, Minner was scheduled for a date with Damon Jackson back in June before getting pulled for unspecified reasons. He'll now set his sites on a new opponent in Nuerdanbieke, who has won back-to-back fights via decision under the UFC banner. In the fights Nuerdanbieke has won, he's leaned heavily on his wrestling, while Minner sports a good-but-not great 66 percent takedown defense. Minner tends to take a wrestling-based approach as well, as neither fighter has particularly impressive striking volume numbers.
