Dominant bounce back effort
Yanez defeated Vinicius Salvador via TKO (punches) at 2:47 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Yanez won each of his first five UFC bouts before suffering back-to-back knockout defeats to Rob Font and Jonathan Martinez. The company handed him an extremely soft matchup here against Salvador in hopes of a rebound, and the UFC got its wish. Yanez, a reckless brawler with massive power, floored his opponent with a right hand and fired off about two dozen follow-up shots before referee Chris Tognoni decided he'd seen enough. While this was an impressive effort, it tells us little about Yanez moving forward. He's going to defeat fringe-roster fighters such as Salvador all day long. Whether or not he's improved enough to defeat the likes of Font and Martinez remains an open question.

Will take on Vinicius Salvador
Yanez will face Vinicius Salvador in a bantamweight bout at a UFC event on May 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The 30-year-old is looking to bounce back after two consecutive losses against Jonathan Martinez and Rob Font. His last victory came on June 18, 2022 against Tony Kelley in his hometown of Texas.

Overwhelmed by Jonathan Martinez
Yanez lost to Jonathan Martinez via TKO (leg kicks) at 2:26 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Yanez was in desperate need of a rebound performance on the heels of his lopsided knockout loss to Rob Font this past April, and he did get it. In fact, if anything, this defeat may have been even more concerning than that one. Yanez was dominated by an opponent that did essentially nothing except throw leg kicks. Adrian displayed zero ability to adjust to what was coming his way, and referee Kerry Hatley finally stopped the fight after Martinez's 29th leg kick landed and sent Yanez crashing to the mat. It's seemingly all fallen apart for the soon-to-be 30-year-old Texan in the span of the past few months.

Martinez fight scheduled
Yanez will fight Jonathan Martinez in a bantamweight bout at UFC Vegas 81 on Oct. 14, according to Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes.
ANALYSIS
Yanez's next fight will be one between two bantamweights currently in the bottom third of the UFC division's top 15. While he tries to redeem himself after Rob Font defeated him in April, Martinez could improve his winning streak that he began during late-2021.

Overwhelmed by Rob Font
Yanez lost to Rob Font via TKO (punches) at 2:57 of Round 1 at UFC 287 on Saturday in Miami.
ANALYSIS
It was a tale of two fights for a bout which lasted less than three minutes. Entering as a -175 favorite against a much more experienced opponent, Yanez got the better of the action in the early going before Font clipped him with a couple of huge shots which Adrian didn't handle well. A few shots later, referee Keith Peterson was stepping in. Yanez is an excellent boxer with legitimate power and has displayed no history of durability issues in the past, so few could have seen this coming. It's imperative the 29-year-old Texan rebound with a strong performance his next time out.
