Shore had an eventful 2017-18 campaign, appearing in 64 total games with the Kings, Senators and Flames. He still managed a career-best 19 points but it wasn't enough to earn a qualifying offer from Calgary as the team let him hit free agency this offseason. The 25-year-old remains unsigned as of mid-August. He was a third-round draft pick in 2011 and still relatively young, so an NHL club will likely bring him in for a tryout during training camp. Even if he makes a roster, Shore presumably will assume a role that deprives him of sufficient opportunities to produce important fantasy numbers.
Entering his fourth season in the league, Shore will look to improve his point total for the third consecutive campaign. He's a perfect fit for the possession-conscious Kings, but the jury's still out on whether the offensive upside he showed in the lower levels can translate to the NHL. However, without power-play looks or more ice time (12:47 per game last season), it will be difficult for Shore to be a more reliable scorer. Still, signing a one-way deal this offseason is encouraging, and Shore has the potential to earn a middle-six role entering the season.
Shore led his team in assists (20) and was second on the team in goals (14) in his third year at the University of Denver as a 20-year-old. He's got enough skill to carve out a career as a third or fourth line player, but doesn't project to much more than that.
Shore, the Kings' third round selection in the 2011 Entry Draft, took a step forward with 41 points in 43 games last season at the University of Denver. He has enough skill to carve out a career as a third- or fourth-line player, but doesn't figure to project as anything more than that.
Shore was the Kings 3rd round selection (82nd overall) in the 2011 entry draft. He's a solid two-way center but will need to improve his offensive game if he's ever to be a fantasy factor. He'll return to the University of Denver hoping to rebound from last year's totals (seven goals, 11 assists in 18 games) where he was hampered by a wrist injury.
