Owen missed 15 cuts in 29 starts and just had one top-10, a T5 at the Sony Open. That won't do it. In his limited playing opportunities on the PGA Tour next season he'll need to improve on his short game and putter, as he ranked 171stin strokes gained-around the green and 185th in strokes gained-putting.

After playing on the PGA Tour for seven of nine years from 2005-2013, the Englishman lost his card. He used a victory on the Web.com Tour – his first on either tour – to return. He’s now 42 and, though he was as high as 88th in the standings as recently as 2012,that seems like wishful thinking in 2014-15.

A year away from the PGA TOUR did wonders for Greg Owen. Prior to losing his card in 2010, Owen spent several years earning less than $1 million. But after a year away, he came back with a vengeance. OK, so maybe vengeance is a strong word, but surpassing $1 million must have been a huge accomplishment for Owen. Now the bad part, his upside is really limited and he's still a risk to tank. He's obviously not a good option in salary cap leagues this year. In draft leagues, he's a ninth-round pick.

Owen is best known for his meltdown at Bay Hill, but he's apparently put that behind him as he's on his way back up the rankings. He's hasn't made it that far yet, but you have to understand how far he fell after that disastrous finish at Bay Hill. Owen has enough game to get into the top-100 this season, but don't expect much more.

Owen, perhaps best known for the three-whack from three feet at the Bay Hill Invitational, had a tough time in 2006. In case you forgot, he was leading Rod Pampling after 70 holes, but everything fell apart on the 17th green on Sunday. With a fairly easy putt for par, he missed. He then quickly hit his next putt from about 18 inches and missed that one also. The result was a double-bogey and horrible mind set heading to the 72nd hole. To his credit, Owen hung in there, but had yet another putt lip out on the final hole that cost him the tourney. Owen wouldn't crack the top 20 again until mid-September. Owen was on his way to having a good year after a solid 2005, but the disaster at Bay Hill obviously set him back. It took a while to recover but he finally did in the fall. Look for Owen to come out refreshed in 2007 and put up career numbers.

When you get this low on this money list you see less and less top finishes. In this case, Owen's best finish was third at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am. He only had two other top-10s, but it doesn't take much these days to earn $1.3 million. Owen was a rookie last year, and $1.3 million is a pretty good start to a career. There isn't anything in his play from last year to make one think he's going to improve that much in 2006. Unlike most rookies, he started the season well, then slumped late. It would be best to pass on Owen this year and see if he makes any progress.
