2024 Fantasy Outlook
Pearsall seems to have the least fantasy hype among the wide receivers drafted in Round 1 or 2 this spring. That's probably fair if San Francisco keeps both Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, but fantasy managers would be wise to keep Pearsall in mind in case there's a trade or a major injury. While the former ASU and Florida wideout never had more than 965 receiving yards or five TDs in a season, he did lead his team in receiving each of his final three years. He also took 21 carries for 253 yards and five TDs during his career, which might help explain why the Niners drafted him at the same time trade rumors were swirling around Samuel. Pearsall is a totally different type of player at 6-1, 189, though also an excellent athlete who tore up a slew of drills at the 2024 Combine (4.41 40, 4.05 short shuttle, 6.64 cone drill, 42-inch vertical, 129-inch broad jump). On the other hand, he'll turn 24 in September and was 'good' more so than 'dominant' in college, suggesting he's a long shot to become a WR1 in the NFL. For now, Pearsall might not even be the third receiver in San Francisco, where Samuel, Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings all remain under contract. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Struggles with four targets
Pearsall had one reception (on four targets) for 16 yards in Thursday's 12-6 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Pearsall saw his highest target total since Week 10 (4-73-1 on six targets), but he was able to generate only one reception off the increased workload. The 49ers offense stalled as an entire unit, so it's hard to put the blame for Thursday's anemic offensive output on the rookie. With San Francisco all but mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, the team may opt to get a better look at Pearsall against Miami on Sunday, Dec. 22.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Role could grow quickly
Pearsall could see a significant role in the 49ers offense as soon as Week 8 against the Cowboys with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reporting that Brandon Aiyuk is out for the season with a knee injury and Deebo Samuel will be sidelined indefinitely by pneumonia.
ANALYSIS
Pearsall made his NFL debut in Week 7 after missing the beginning of the year due to being shot in the chest during an attempted robbery just before the start of the season. The 31st overall pick in the 2024 Draft caught three of five targets for 21 yards, but the Niners will need the rookie to accelerate his development curve due to the team's top two wideouts being unavailable. No. 3 receiver Jauan Jennings missed the Week 7 contest with a hip issue, but he may be able to return in Week 8, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic.
