Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Bolton endured a frustrating 2023 season, as he missed three games with an ankle injury from Weeks 3-5. He returned for two contests, only to suffer a dislocated wrist that required surgery and forced him to remain on the sidelines until Week 14. Even when healthy, Bolton saw his role decrease on a per-game basis. In 2022, he played 100 percent of defensive snaps in 13 games, but he failed to do so until the AFC Championship Game last season. The departure of Willie Gay has the potential to benefit Bolton in that regard heading into 2024, though we've still likely seen his peak level of production in 2022 when he tallied 180 total tackles. While it's safe to suggest he's slipped a bit in terms of projected production relative to his peers, Bolton should remain an elite IDP option so long as he can remain healthy. Read Past Outlooks
Logs sack in Week 10
Bolton recorded six total tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 16-14 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Bolton was one of six Chiefs to bring down Bo Nix in Sunday's win, recording his first sack of the season. The fourth-year pro is the Chiefs' leading tackler, having accumulated 62 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and three passes defended through the team's first nine games. He's expected to remain a viable IDP option as the Chiefs travel to Buffalo in Week 11.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Bolton has proven early in his young career to have a nose for the football, registering 112 tackles as a rookie second-rounder in 2021 and following that up with a whopping 180 tackles (108 solo) in 2022, ranking him second in the NFL behind only Foye Oluokun. In terms of IDP producers, the Chiefs' starting middle linebacker should rank among the most sought-after options regardless of position, on the heels of posting 13 games with nine or more tackles last season while adding two sacks and a pair of interceptions.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might get contract extension
Bolton could be signed to a contract extension before the start of the regular season, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The linebacker is headed into the final year of his rookie contract after being selected in the second round of the 2021 Draft out of Missouri. Bolton has been a tackling machine in the middle of the Kansas City defense, and while injuries limited him to eight regular-season games in 2023, he still racked up 60 tackles, one year after finishing second in the NFL with 180 stops. With kicker Harrison Butker having received an extension Monday, Bolton could be the next core member of the Super Bowl champs to get a big payday.
