According to PFF, Chenal graded out as the Chiefs' best linebacker both in the regular season and during the playoffs, proving to be a stout run defender, pass rusher and tackler. The stats back up a solid campaign, with Chenal posting 40 tackles (25 solo) and a trio of sacks in his second NFL season. The team let Wille Gay leave via free agency this offseason, presumably opening the door for Chenal to claim a regular starting role in 2024. It wasn't until late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game that Chenal logged his first sack of the 2024 regular season. He was credited with the sack after getting to Gardner Minshew while the quarterback was running out of bounds for a minimal loss. Through the first seven games of the regular season, Chenal has tallied 27 tackles (21 solo), including 1.0 sacks, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
