The Giants are optimistic Solder will play for them in 2021, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran offensive tackle took a COVID-19 opt out for 2020, pushing his $16.5 million cap hit to 2021. The two sides are trying to work out a new arrangement that lowers the cap hit, with the Giants perhaps wary of losing another veteran blocker after they released guard Kevin Zeitler on Wednesday. The team might eventually consider releasing Solder if no agreement is reached.
