Denver added Fuller in free agency this offseason, along with fellow cornerback Ronald Darby. The former Bears standout is likely to start at outside cornerback in the upcoming campaign.
Although he couldn't replicate the seven-interception season he posted in 2018, Fuller notched 82 tackles in 2019, which was the best output of his career. Showing that he has the ability to pile up tackles, as well as post multiple picks in each of his five active seasons in the league, he's a valuable IDP. As the Bears' top cornerback, he's certain to see plenty of passes thrown his way, giving him a strong weekly scoring floor. Aside from missing the 2016 season with a knee injury, he's played a full slate in five other years, so durability is mostly a given.
Since the Bears selected him in the first round of the 2014 draft, Fuller was mostly a disappointment, but he broke out in 2018, when he intercepted seven passes while adding 55 tackles. His interception total last year almost matched the eight passes he picked off in his previous three seasons, so potential owners should have concern that he may be coming off a career year. However, the Bears possess an excellent defense, so it's more likely that the pressure the team puts on quarterbacks should give Fuller plenty of chances for another strong season. Between his ability to pile up tackles and his potential for interceptions, he profiles as a strong IDP option.
Fuller didn't show great coverage skills during the first two years of his career before missing his third season due to a knee injury, and as a result, the Bears chose not to pick up his fifth-year option. Apparently motivated and healthy last year, the cornerback showed he was worthy of being a first-round pick, displaying excellent coverage skills with a career-high 22 passes defensed. His performance earned Fuller the transition tag from the Bears and an offer sheet from the divisional foe Packers, which his original squad matched. In 2018, he'll be relevant as an IDP, as he's always been a reliable source of tackles with between 55 and 69 in each of his three full seasons. He's also intercepted eight passes during that span, with at least two each year.
Fuller was a first-round draft choice by the Bears in 2014, but after sitting out the 2016 campaign with a knee injury, his fifth-year option for 2018 was declined. Chicago signed a pair of cornerbacks in the offseason, and Fuller will operate as a backup who could see time when the Bears go into their nickel or dime packages. Unless the team suffers an injury, he won’t be a viable IDP option.
After being selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Fuller was one of only four NFL players to record six interceptions and three fumbles over the last two seasons. However, his 2015 season saw him produce an underwhelming two interceptions, and he wasn’t the dominant player that the Bears expected to see after spending a premium pick on him. He enters 2016 as the team’s top cornerback, and if the infusion of talent on the defensive side of the ball pays off, Fuller will have a much better situation, which should lead to increased production. However, he’ll need to show that last year’s low interception total was a fluke before meriting serious IDP consideration.
Fuller, the Bears’ first-round pick from a year ago, opened his rookie campaign as the nickelback before ascending into an every-down role midway through the Week 2 victory over the 49ers. After long-time No. 1 corner Charles Tillman exited that week with a triceps injury that required season-ending surgery, Fuller immediately came on and made his mark, hauling in two critical second-half interceptions to seal the game for the Bears and earn himself NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Fuller continued to excel in the next few games that followed, but his production took a major downturn in the latter half of the season. Those growing pains weren’t unexpected, and didn’t prevent Fuller from being a turnover machine, as he finished the season with four picks and three forced fumbles. Vic Fangio’s 3-4 scheme will require Fuller to line up as the Bears’ top shutdown corner, an assignment that he appears to be ready to take on. Look for him to only improve as a cover man and as a tackler in his second season.
Selected by the Bears with the 14th overall pick out of Virginia Tech, Fuller will function as the Bears' third cornerback as a rookie, seeing most of his playing time on obvious passing downs. Assuming he develops as expected during his first NFL season, Fuller would likely be groomed for a starting job in 2015, with Charles Tillman's contract set to expire next offseason.

Trade looming?
CBDenver Broncos
October 24, 2021
The Broncos may be willing to part with Fuller now that Ronald Darby is healthy, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos fielded calls on Fuller's availability during the offseason, but they elected to hold onto the cornerback as added depth. It turned out to be the right move, as Darby went down with a hamstring injury and was sidelined from Week 2 through Week 5. Now that Darby is healthy, Fuller has seen just two defensive snaps over the past two games. Patrick Surtain and Darby have been manning the outside, and Bryce Callahan has operated as the nickel corner, which leaves Fuller as the odd man out. There are numerous contending teams who are dealing with injuries to their secondaries that could try pursuing Fuller if he is made available again.
