2024 Fantasy Outlook
Saunders started all 17 regular-season games for the first time last season, tallying a career-high 57 tackles but zero sacks. He'll reprise his spot as New Orleans' top defensive tackle in 2024. Read Past Outlooks
Decent in injury-shortened year
In 13 games in 2024, Saunders recorded 43 tackles (18 solo), including 2.0 sacks, and three pass breakups including an interception.
ANALYSIS
Saunders was easily on track to play more defensive snaps in 2024 than in his first season in New Orleans in 2023, but he was forced to miss four games due to injury. Both of his main competitors for playing time, Bryan Bresee and Nathan Shepherd, are good bets to return to the Saints in 2025 along with Saunders, so a similar role could be in store for him next year.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Saunders is in line to play a significant role immediately as he enters his first campaign in New Orleans. The Chiefs' 2019 third-round pick was limited to just 10 regular-season games across 2020 and 2021 due to injury. But he turned in career highs in tackles (48), sacks (3.5) and defensive snaps (405) in 16 contests last season. After the Saints allowed their top three defensive tackles from 2022 to walk in the offseason, the 324-pound Saunders should help lead the team's interior defensive line this fall.
