Jordan Love

26-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
Green Bay Packers
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Just as panic was setting in last season, Love proved he was the Packers' next franchise quarterback. The first eight weeks after Love took over for Aaron Rodgers were disconcerting, to say the least, for Packers fans. He had an 11:8 TD:INT and 78.2 passer rating and the team was 2-5. But things started to change Week 9, and in the last 10 games Love threw 21 TD passes to just three interceptions as the Packers went 7-3 to make the playoffs. In that span, he ranked fourth in the NFL in completion percentage (68.7), sixth in on-target percentage (75.9), sixth in TD percentage (6.1) and eighth in YPA (7.7). On attempts of 20-plus yards, his 20 completions were second only to Dak Prescott’s 26 as he went deep on 11.0 percent of his attempts (11th). Love became the third QB in NFL history with 4,000-plus passing yards, 30-plus TD passes and a playoff win in his first season as a starter. The Packers were the youngest team to win a postseason game in NFL history, led by four wideouts and two tight ends who topped 300 yards as rookies or second-year pros. The team had a quiet offseason apart from replacing RB Aaron Jones with Josh Jacobs, banking on continued improvement from the talented young core and an 11-player draft class that includes two top-100 picks for the offense (OT Jordan Morgan, 25th; RB MarShawn Lloyd, 88th). Love has no shortage of weapons and also adds a bit of rushing value (247 yards, four TDs), giving him a chance to repeat last year's QB5 finish, at least. Read Past Outlooks

Love completed 12 of 20 passes for 206 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and rushed four times for 23 yards in the Packers' 34-31 loss to the Lions on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Love averaged an impressive 10.3 yards per attempt, but he recorded his second-fewest number of pass attempts this season against a Lions squad that had forced opponents to the air plenty. With stalwart interior lineman DJ Reader (shoulder) sidelined and fellow defensive tackle Alim McNeill (head) exiting for the Lions early in the contest, the Packers were able to lean on Josh Jacobs on the ground about as much as usual, and Love was also the victim of Detroit's 12-minute-plus time-of-possession advantage. His one touchdown pass went to Tucker Kraft from 12 yards out to cap off the first possession of the second half, a drive Love ignited with a 59-yard completion to Christian Watson. The fourth-year signal-caller does now have a three-game interception-less streak, and Love should be more active through the air in a key Week 15 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday night, Dec. 15.

2020
It’s time for Love in Green Bay. With Aaron Rodgers jetting to New York, the 2020 first-round pick is finally a starter after three years as an understudy. If he's to make Packers fans not long for Rodgers, he’ll have to do it with a young WR corps after veterans Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb joined Rodgers in New York. What’s left is an unimpressive collection of rookies, second-year “vets” and practice squad players. Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, both of whom had up-and-down rookie seasons last year, top the WR depth chart. The Packers drafted three wide receivers, highlighted by second-round pick Jayden Reed (5-11, 187, with 4.45 speed). They used another second-round pick on TE Luke Musgrave, who with 4.61 speed at 6-6, 253, has little competition for tight-end targets. At 6-4, 219, Love has a strong arm and is mobile, which could give him a stable rushing floor while the passing game rounds into form. The Packers hedged their bets with a one-year extension worth a guaranteed $13.5 million, rather than picking up Love’s fifth-year option for a guaranteed $20.3 million for 2024. And for this season at least, Love might be handing it to Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon behind a good offensive line more often than not.
The Packers took Love in the first round in 2020, and it was assumed he would supplant long-time starter Aaron Rodgers at some point. However, with Rodgers winning the MVP both of the last two years and signing a lucrative contract extension, Love may never get the chance to be the starting quarterback in Green Bay. Love did start one game last season, and he held his own in a tough environment in Kansas City. Opinions on him remain mixed, though, and no team offered the Packers enough to part with him over the offseason. As such, Love will remain in Green Bay for the time being and spend another season backing up Rodgers.
Not only did Love not see the field last season, the 26th overall pick in last year's draft couldn't even earn the backup job to Aaron Rodgers - he was the No. 3 QB most of the season. Love has a strong arm, but scouts criticized his accuracy and vision coming out of Utah State, as he was considered a project. This year, Love figures to move up to No. 2, but only after a good bit of offseason drama nearly left him as the No. 1 (Rodgers decided to stick around another year). Love will have all-world Davante Adams at his disposal if he gets on the field this year, while TE Robert Tonyan proved a good red-zone target last season and Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a downfield threat. At 6-4, 219, Love is big and mobile, which at least helps his fantasy profile if he disappoints as a passer.
Love took a step back in his junior season at Utah State following a stellar sophomore campaign, but his skills still made him a first-round pick in many mock drafts. With Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, few pegged Love to end up a Packer, but that's where he landed. The Packers even traded up to select him, so it's clear management likes his potential. Most quarterbacks taken in the first round these days start at some point in their first year, but that's a long shot in Love's case barring a Rodgers injury. Rodgers is under contract for four more seasons, but if the rookie develops like the Packers hope, they could go younger and cheaper at the position at some point in the coming years.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Facing depleted Niners defense
QBGreen Bay Packers
November 23, 2024
Love will be facing a 49ers defense Sunday that will be without defensive end Nick Bosa and cornerback Charvarius Ward, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ANALYSIS
Love has been sacked only eight times this season, and with the 49ers without two of their top defenders Sunday in Bosa and Ward, the Packers' quarterback should have more time to operate in the pocket and find his receivers downfield. San Francisco will also be without starting quarterback Brock Purdy due to a right shoulder injury, and Love could benefit from a field position advantage if the Niners' offense stalls with Brandon Allen under center. In his seven games since returning from an MCL sprain in his left knee, Love has completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,821 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
