2024 Fantasy Outlook
Smith-Marsette has seen limited receiving work throughout his first three years in the NFL, recording just 14 receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns during that time. Despite his lack of production through the air, the 24-year-old's explosiveness was on full display last season, as he returned a punt for a 79-yard touchdown and took eight carries for 74 yards and another score. Smith-Marsette likely will remain the Panthers' top punt returner in 2024, but under new head coach Dave Canales, he has a chance to see more offensive work, competing with Jonathan Mingo and Terrance Marshall for a depth role in the Carolina's wide receiver room. Smith-Marsette suffered a blow to the head during Sunday's contest, but it looks like he came away without any serious injury. He figures to resume his regular role as a return man in Week 10 at Carolina.

2021
Smith-Marsette got some playing time late last season with several Vikings receivers absent and overall had five receptions (on six targets) for 116 yards and two touchdowns in eight appearances, including a 3-103-1 line Week 18. The 2021 fifth-round draft pick has above average speed but may need more time to develop. He'll battle K.J. Osborn and Bisi Johnson for the third and fourth receiver roles and could be in the mix for the punt return job on special teams.
