2024 Fantasy Outlook
Smith was once again productive in his 12th NFL season, all with the Vikings. His 3.0 sacks matched his career best, while his three forced fumbles also equaled his career-high mark from 2019. He was used more at the line of scrimmage under new defensive coordinator Brian Flores. He blitzed on 325 of his 992 snaps in 2023, which was twice as much as any prior season, according to ESPN Stats & Information data. At age 35 he could produce enough big plays for fantasy value in deeper formats. Read Past Outlooks
Collects 11 tackles in win
Smith recorded 11 tackles (nine solo) during Sunday's 30-27 overtime win at Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Smith was on the field for all 73 of the Vikings' defensive snaps in Week 12, and he was able to turn in a season-high tackle total. His every-down role will keep him on the fringe of the IDP radar for a Week 13 tilt versus the Cardinals.

At age 34, Smith is still playing at a high level entering his 12th season with the Vikings. He tied a career-high with five interceptions in 2022 to go along with 85 tackles (66 solo), 10 passes defended, and one forced fumble across 14 games. Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could have contract restructured
Smith may need to accept a restructured contract this offseason to remain with the Vikings, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran safety is coming off another strong campaign but has two years remaining on his current deal, with cap hits of $19.22 million in 2024 and $22.02 million in 2025. Harrison agreed to a pay cut and a restructured deal last offseason, so it's not clear if he's willing to give back any more dollars to the Vikings. With the team facing the need to either retain Kirk Cousins in free agency or find a new quarterback, plus trying to find a way to keep key free agents on defense like Danielle Hunter, Minnesota needs to find any cap savings it can. If Harrison doesn't agree to a restructured contract, he could be released instead.
