2024 Fantasy Outlook
Delpit, who agreed to a three-year, $36 million contract extension with the Browns last December, is coming off a 2023 regular season in which he recorded 80 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pick in 13 contests. Now that he's presumably past the groin injury that cost him four outings down the stretch and kept him from reaching the 100-tackle plateau for the second straight campaign, the 2020 second-rounder is poised to maintain his key role in the Browns secondary, where he'll man the team's starting strong safety spot. In that capacity, Delpit should continue to produce IDP-worthy numbers, so long as he can stay on the field. Read Past Outlooks
Career-high 111 tackles in 2024
Delpit finished the 2024 regular season with 111 tackles (68 solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defense and one fumble recovery across 16 games.
ANALYSIS
It was a disappointing season for the 3-14 Browns, whose defense gave up the third-most points per game in the NFL in 2024 (25.6). Delpit didn't record an interception for the first time in his four-year NFL career, but he did lead the Browns in combined and solo tackles and finished tied with Quentin Lake for seventh-most combined tackles among safeties. Delpit has logged at least 100 tackles in two of four NFL regular seasons.

2020
When healthy, Delpit has been a starter since being drafted in the second round of the 2020 draft. His 2022 was up-and-down but he played better toward the end of the season and led the team with 105 tackles and four interceptions. The 24-year-old returns as the team's top strong safety and may get a boost from new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. Delpit operates better near the line of scrimmage and in man coverage against tight ends, and Schwartz's scheme includes more man-to-man and single-high safety packages that allow Delpit to play in the box.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Dropping to second round?
Delpit is projected to be taken by the Bears with the 43rd overall pick (second round) in the latest mock draft by Chad Reuter of NFL.com.
ANALYSIS
The LSU product enjoyed a standout final two college seasons, garnering consensus All-American honors as both a sophomore and junior and securing the Jim Thorpe Award as college football's top defensive back in 2019. Delpit boasts prototypical size at 6-foot-2, 213 pounds, and he's been considered first-round-worthy in multiple mock drafts this spring. Chicago does make sense as a potential destination, however, considering Deon Bush, who's spent his first four seasons as a reserve, currently sits atop the Bears' strong safety depth chart.
