One of four QBs to see action for the Cardinals last season, mostly due to Kyler Murray's ACL tear in Week 14, Blough started Weeks 17 and 18, completing 38 of 58 passes for 402 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The team retained him in the offseason while also signing Jeff Driskel and selecting Clayton Tune in the draft. If Murray isn't healthy Week 1, veteran Colt McCoy is the best bet to lead Arizona's offense, but Blough will be around if he's needed.
Blough is back in Detroit for another battle with Tim Boyle for second-string duties behind Jared Goff. With the Lions reportedly looking to keep just two quarterbacks on the active roster this season, Blough's preseason showing was enough for the team to roll with him instead of Boyle as the No. 2.
Relegated to third-string duties in 2020 behind Matthew Stafford and Chase Daniel, Blough only saw game action in a blowout loss at the end of Detroit's miserable season. While the 26-year-old will have new teammates after the Lions swapped Stafford and Daniel for Jared Goff and Tim Boyle, Blough should remain in the No. 3 role and he consequently offers minimal upside as a fantasy option.
Getting a spot start thanks to injuries to Matthew Stafford and Jeff Driskel, Blough turned heads by throwing for 280 yards with two scores and a pick in a near victory over the Bears last November. However, the next four games exposed Blough's Thanksgiving Day performance as a flash in the pan, and Detroit accordingly signed Chase Daniel to a three-year, $13.05 deal to take over as Stafford's backup this offseason. There could be a chance for Blough to reassert himself down the line, but his 2020 outlook doesn't look promising.

Tough task in finale
QBArizona Cardinals
January 5, 2023
Blough has had the opportunity to prepare as the starter throughout the practice week this week, but he has a daunting Week 18 challenge in the form of the 49ers defense, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Blough was called upon to start on very short notice ahead of Week 17, as Colt McCoy had been in line to helm the offense versus the Falcons until his concussion symptoms reemerged the Friday before the game. Blough handled himself reasonably well under the circumstances by throwing for 222 yards and a touchdown, albeit against one of the league's weaker defenses. The matchup is diametrically opposite Sunday for Blough's second start, however, as the 49ers are allowing the second-fewest total yards per game while also compiling 41 sacks and 16 interceptions through 17 contests.
