2024 Fantasy Outlook
As a 2023 fifth-round pick, Tune was in a position to see the field early in his career due to Kyler Murray's recovery from a torn ACL extending into the regular season. However, the Cardinals released Colt McCoy and traded for Joshua Dobbs in late August, and the latter ended up starting the first eight games before he was shipped to Minnesota. Tune then started Week 9, completing 11 of 20 passes for 58 yards and two interceptions before yielding to Murray for the rest of the year. Arizona acquired Desmond Ridder from the Falcons this offseason, but Tune ended up winning a summer competition for the No. 2 QB job. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Carries three times in win
Tune played three of the Cardinals' 57 snaps on offense in Monday's 17-15 win over the Chargers and carried three times for two yards.
ANALYSIS
Even though starting quarterback Kyler Murray didn't suffer an injury at any point in Monday's contest, Tune was summoned from the bench for his second appearance of the season. All three of his snaps came in 3rd-and-1 or 4th-and-1 situations, as the Cardinals likely thought that the sturdier built Tune (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) would have a better chance at pushing through a pile of bodies for a first down than the smaller Murray (5-foot-10, 207 pounds). Tune was able to extend a drive in the second quarter with a two-yard run on third down, but he was held to no gain on back-to-back carries on 3th-and-1 and 4th-and-1 in the third quarter to cede possession to the Chargers.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Under normal circumstances, Tune would ride the bench to begin his NFL career as a fifth-round rookie quarterback. However, the QB situation in Arizona may allow him to get playing time early on. Kyler Murray will miss at least the first four games to complete his rehab from an ACL tear, while veteran backup Colt McCoy was released two weeks before the start of the regular season. The Cardinals thus appear set to play Tune and/or Joshua Dobbs for the first few games of what looks to be a rebuilding year.

Locks down backup spot
Tune is slated to open the season as the backup to Kyler Murray, as the Cardinals waived Desmond Ridder on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Ridder was the favorite to snag the second spot on the quarterback depth chart after being acquired via trade from the Falcons in March, but Tune beat out the 2022 second-round pick during the preseason. Tune, a 2023 fifth-round draft pick out of Houston, is the only quarterback other than Murray to make Arizona's 53-man roster.
