2024 Fantasy Outlook
Ogunbowale has established himself as a special-teams ace in the NFL, but he's been unable to translate that secure roster spot into consistent opportunities for touches and has played more snaps on special teams than on offense in each of the last four seasons. He does offer some potential as a passing-down option, but his career 3.4 yards per carry highlights his limitations as a runner, and his efficiency has declined further any time he's gotten a sizable role. With Joe Mixon now heading the Texans' backfield, Ogunbowale has an even narrower path to fantasy utility. Read Past Outlooks

Following Dameon Pierce's season-ending ankle injury in Week 14 last season, the Texans were left with Ogunbowale, Royce Freeman and Red Burkhead in the backfield. Ogunbowale and Freeman finished the season as co-leads but neither was going to be featured for long. Pierce is back from his injury and the Texans also added a capable backup in Devin Singletary, who spent the first four years of his career in Buffalo, including at times as the lead back. Ogunbowale will be no better than third on the team's depth chart and probably fourth behind Mike Boone.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could play larger role in Week 3
Ogunbowale could see an uptick in usage against the Vikings in Week 3, as neither Joe Mixon nor Dameon Pierce practiced Thursday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Mixon and Pierce have been sidelined both Wednesday and Thursday due to their respective ankle and hamstring injuries. Cam Akers is the top candidate to lead Houston's backfield if neither Mixon nor Pierce play Sunday, but Ogunbowale closed out last week's win over the Bears after Akers fumbled. Ogunbowale's pass catching skills and ball security could help him see more involvement against the Vikings.
