2024 Fantasy Outlook
Strange played in 14 games during his rookie campaign and primarily served as Jacksonville's No. 3 tight end. He caught five of nine targets for 35 yards and a touchdown. Evan Engram is locked in as the Jags' top tight end, but the No. 2 role should be up for grabs. Strange, who was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, will be competing with Luke Farrell and Josiah Deguara for the role. Read Past Outlooks
Becomes top TE on depth chart
Strange is set for a larger role on offense to close out the 2024 campaign, with head coach Doug Pederson having announced Friday that Evan Engram will miss the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Strange has recently played 40-plus percent of offensive snaps even with Engram available, and his involvement maxed out at 70-plus percent of snaps when Engram missed Week 2 through 5. Now, beginning Sunday versus the Jets, Strange will be in a position to operate as Jacksonville's top option at tight end with Mac Jones under center. The second-year pro has compiled 23 catches for 256 yards and two touchdowns on 32 targets so far this season across 13 appearances.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Evan Engram busted out with 766 receiving yards and four touchdowns for Jacksonville last season and is back on the franchise tag, which gives Strange a chance to develop in a secondary role after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Strange is a strong blocker who also caught 32 passes for 362 yards and five touchdowns during his final collegiate campaign at Penn State. He's unlikely to be fantasy relevant as a rookie with Engram atop the depth chart -- tight ends rarely are immediately productive, anyway -- but Strange is likely viewed as more of a potential long-term solution.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Starter with Engram done for season
Strange is expected to work as Jacksonville's top tight end for the remainder of the season, starting with Week 15 against the Jets, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Evan Engram will miss the rest of the campaign due to a torn labrum.
ANALYSIS
Strange found himself atop the depth chart in Week 2 through Week 5 while Engram recovered from a hamstring injury. During that four-game span, Strange caught 12 of 18 targets for 120 yards and two touchdowns. The 2023 second-round draft pick had Trevor Lawrence as his quarterback for that stretch, but Strange will be catching passes from backup Mac Jones against the Jets, as Lawrence has been ruled out for the season due to a concussion and shoulder injury of his own.
