DiNucci signed to the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
The quarterback was waived by the Bills in August after trying to win the third QB job behind Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky. DiNucci spent 2023 on Denver's practice squad but did not appear in a regular-season game. New Orleans starter Derek Carr is week-to-week with a hand fracture, but he also has two healthy backups in Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler.

DFS NFL: Saturday Preseason Preview
Dan Marcus analyzes the Saturday preseason DFS contests as Trey Lance should again get a lot of playing time for the Cowboys.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2020
Dak Prescott's injury allowed DiNucci to make his NFL debut last year, but the seventh-round rookie unsurprisingly looked overmatched. He'll battle Garrett Gilbert for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart, but DiNucci likely needs at least one more year of development before he can be trusted under center.
A seventh-round pick in 2020 out of FCS James Madison, DiNucci has the arm strength and mobility to someday be an NFL-caliber quarterback, but he'll need a lot of development time to get there. For now, he'll hold a clipboard or work with the practice squad in Dallas while Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton handle gameday snaps.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Trubisky injury could open door
QBBuffalo Bills
August 18, 2024
DiNucci has a chance to open the regular season as the top backup to Josh Allen after Mitch Trubisky suffered a knee injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Trubisky also threw an ugly interception prior to getting hurt, but the former Bears quarterback has the clear edge over DiNucci in the battle for the backup spot if both are healthy. Should Trubisky's injury sideline him for the start of the regular season, that would likely be the ticket to a spot on the 53-man roster for DiNucci, who hasn't seen regular-season action since making one start for the Cowboys in 2020.
