Scheduled to work out for Raiders
Kaepernick will work out for the Raiders this week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Kaepernick, now 34, last played professional football in 2016, the same year he started kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. The Raiders, meanwhile, currently have Nick Mullens, Jarrett Stidham and Chase Garbers as their depth quarterbacks behind Derek Carr. Of that group, Mullens is the clear favorite for the backup job, though Kaepernick might represent competition if he looks at all like his old self.

Kaepernick hasn't landed a new deal since opting out of his contract with the 49ers in March of 2017. Despite his free-agent market remaining weak throughout, he has reportedly been diligent in his training and is positioning himself for a comeback in the near future. The Seahawks are seemingly the most likely landing spot for the quarterback, considering they've brought Kaepernick in for a workout both of the last two offseasons, though the Ravens have shown interest as well. No guarantee to play a snap during the 2018 season, Kaepernick is only worth stashing in the deepest of fantasy leagues given the multitude of quality options at the position.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Won't join Bolts as coach
Kaepernick will not be joining the Chargers as a member of the coaching staff this season, head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed Thursday, per the Associated Press.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh had recently revealed he'd talked to Kaepernick, whom he'd coached with the 49ers during the 2011-2014 seasons, about becoming a member of his first Chargers staff. However, Kaepernick, who's still hoping for an NFL comeback at age 36, recently confirmed to Britain's Sky Sports that he was still training with that goal in mind. Nevertheless, Harbaugh's comments Thursday also ruled out the possibility of his one-time quarterback joining Los Angeles as a player.
