New York Giants: Team Draft Needs

David Wilson's neck surgery leaves the Giants thin at running back, but expect them to sour on the idea of a early running back selection in light of the disappointment Wilson has been. Andre Brown and Brandon Jacobs were both fourth-round picks, moreover, so the Giants should look for running back insurance later on. Earlier in the draft is where they should work on their interior offensive line and most parts of their defense, especially defensive end and cornerback.

1. Guard

The loss of Chris Snee was a big one for the Giants, and David Diehl appears headed toward retirement, too. They might not be able to sign 16-game starter Kevin Boothe, and center David Baas has been a massive durability liability since joining the team.

2. Defensive end

Justin Tuck and Mathias Kiwanuka might not be affordable for the Giants going forward, and Jason Pierre-Paul heads into a contract year with two straight seasons of durability and productivity letdowns. Damontre Moore might be forced into a starting role, but he's completely unproven after sitting on the bench as a rookie.

3. Cornerback

The Giants need to add youth and durability to their cornerback lineup. Terrell Thomas is a free agent, and the Giants should let go of Corey Webster due to productivity and durability issues. Prince Amukamara is inked in at one starting spot, but Jayron Hosley and Trumaine McBride are the remaining options, but both had injury troubles last year and are unproven as third corners, let alone starters.
