FanDuel Fantasy Football: Week 14 Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel Fantasy Football series.

QUARTERBACK

Josh Allen, BUF vs. NYJ ($7,400): Allen has caught fire over the last two weeks, scoring 30.74 and 26.3 FanDuel points thanks largely due to his running ability. The Jets defense is nothing special and being home in Buffalo is another factor working in Allen's favor. Losing Kelvin Benjamin this week was likely a case of addition by subtraction, and Zay Jones looks ready to assume the No.1 wide receiver role. Think of Allen for GPPs and spend up for someone like Philip Rivers in cash. Rivers has at least two touchdown passes in every game this season (the only QB to do so) and gets the Bengals, who have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing QBs.

RUNNING BACK

Jaylen Samuels, PIT at OAK ($4,600): Samuels is a great punt play this week especially with the extra flex spot added into lineups this season. While he'll split work with Stevan Ridley ($4,500), Samuels possesses the upside and is in line to start the game. Something to consider – when Le'Veon Bell has been out in the past, the Steelers have not gone to a timeshare, heavily using DeAngelo Williams and now James Conner (out with an ankle injury) this season as the bell cow running back. Even if Ridley steals some touches for $100 more, it's Samuels who is the more desirable target.

Jeff Wilson, SF vs. DEN ($5,600): With Matt Breida aggravating his ankle injury in warmups last Sunday, the 49ers turned to the rookie out of North Texas who made the most of his opportunity. Wilson finished the game with 134 yards from scrimmage, good for 15.4 fantasy points. Wilson had impressed in practice to the point that Shanahan said he was going to be part of the running attack, and Alfred Morris was a healthy inactive. In seasons past, Denver would have been a defense to avoid, but this season they've been league-average as far as allowing fantasy points to the opposing team's backfield.

WIDE RECEIVER

Zay Jones, BUF vs. NYJ ($5,100): Zay is a good GPP play this week, showing a low floor (zero fantasy points against Jacksonville), but also a high ceiling with 22.7 and 19.3 fantasy points in two of his last three games. In those two games, he had 20 targets and is poised to continue seeing those type of numbers with the release of Kelvin Benjamin. Provided weather doesn't play a factor, this is an elite matchup with the Jets surrendering the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.

Courtland Sutton, DEN at SF ($5,600): The loss of Emmanuel Sanders this week to an Achilles' injury puts Sutton in position to be the top receiving option for Denver the rest of the season. Because the injury happened during practice this week, there was no price adjustment for Sutton, who remains incredibly cheap this week. The 49ers give up the 11th most fantasy points to the position on the season, making this a good spot to use Sutton, even if he has Case Keenum throwing to him.

TIGHT END

David Njoku, CLE vs. CAR ($5,300): Njoku has been hard to trust on a weekly basis, but this week it's all about the right matchup for him. The Panthers have given up the third-most fantasy points to the position, and Baker Mayfield has been playing much better under Freddie Kitchens. If looking for safer options, paying up for Travis Kelce ($8,000) or Zach Ertz ($7,400) makes sense considering the Ravens give up the 11th most fantasy points to the position and the Cowboys the ninth-most.

FLEX

Aaron Jones, GB vs. ATL ($7,500): It's tough to know if there's going to be a drastic change in the play-calling after Mike McCarthy was let go last Sunday. What is known is that after averaging 5.5 yards per carry last season, Jones is averaging 5.7 this season. The Falcons have been a terrible run defense all season, allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Jones is tied for being the 20th-highest priced player at Flex this week, making him a good value considering his price and upside.

DEFENSE

New Orleans Saints D/ST at TB ($3,800): The Saints defense has improved dramatically since the start of the season and has been one of the best in the league over their last six games. Taking out a dud against the Rams (which is understandable), they've scored 15, 15, 13, nine and 15 fantasy points over those other five games. They've forced multiple turnovers in four straight games and now get Jameis Winston Sunday.
