Jones announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Alabama to enter the 2021 NFL Draft, Charlie Potter of 247Sports.com reports.

The redshirt junior's decision to leave school with two years of eligibility remaining isn't overly surprising after he turned in an utterly dominant 2020 campaign, his first as a full-time starter. While leading the 13-0 Crimson Tide to a national championship and being named a Heisman Trophy finalist, Jones completed 77.4 percent of his throws for 11.2 yards per attempt and a 41:4 TD:INT to go with another score on the ground. Bryce Young, a five-star recruit from the 2020 cycle, becomes the next man up at quarterback for Alabama.
