2024 Tournament PreviewCoach Dan Hurley and the Huskies enter the NCAA Tournament looking to become the first repeat champion since Florida in 2006-07. Much of last year's core is back, including floor general Tristen Newton (15.2 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 6.0 apg), as UConn ranks No. 1 in the nation in offensive efficiency, per KenPom. With the No. 11 defense, the Huskies are as balanced as ever, ranking sixth in effective field-goal percentage and fourth in opponent effective field-goal percentage. Rutgers transfer Cam Spencer (14.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg) and 6-8 sophomore Alex Karaban (13.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg) both top 40 percent shooting from the perimeter, and 7-2 Donovan Clingan (14.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.2 bpg) is healthy after midseason injuries, filling the major void at center with Adama Sanogo's departure. Five-star freshman Stephon Castle (10.8 ppg) is the fifth starter averaging double digits. With an impressive 21 wins in Quads 1 and 2, UConn is the no-doubt No. 1 overall seed in the Tournament.
