Leaving Gators for NBA
Mann announced Wednesday that he will sign with an agent and forgo his remaining eligibility at Florida to enter the 2021 NBA Draft, Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A potential first-round selection in the upcoming draft, Mann will be ending his college career following his sophomore season at Florida. After handling a limited role behind Andrew Nembhard as a true freshman in 2019-20, Mann stepped in as the Gators' starting point guard this past season following Nembhard's transfer to Gonzaga. The 6-foot-5 Mann ended up serving as Florida's top playmaker in 2020-21 after Keyontae Johnson was lost early in the season due to a cardiac issue, finishing the campaign with averages of 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.4 steals in 32.3 minutes while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from distance. Mann's departure creates a major void in the Florida backcourt.
