In a huge blow to the Volunteers' chances of a deep tournament run, Turner will have season-ending surgery to repair a shoulder issue that's apparently been hampering him for over a year. The Senior point guard, who had started all 10 games and was far-and-away Tennesse's best playmaker, will likely turn his attention to preparing for a professional career. It's unclear how the injury will affect Tennesse's rotations as Tennessee is relatively thin on depth in the backcourt. Jalen Johnson, Jacob Fleschman and Davonte Gaines are best positioned to step into larger roles, though none of the three is averaging more than 11.0 minutes per game currently. Josiah James and Jordan Bowden will likely be called upon to take on larger playmaking roles as both are already exceptional scorers.
