ROS Projections
Turning pro
Quickley announced Monday that he'll forgo his final two seasons at Kentucky to enter the 2020 NBA Draft, Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In his statement to ESPN, Quickley indicated that he would sign with an agent and officially move on from Kentucky, making him the third Wildcats underclassman to bolt for the draft after Ashton Hagans and Tyrese Maxey also announced they were turning pro. Quickley, who projects as a late-first or second-round pick in the draft, took home SEC Player of the Year honors as a sophomore in 2019-20, averaging 18.4 points and 4.6 boards per game during conference play while shooting 48 percent from three-point range and 92 percent from the charity stripe. Kentucky is expected to lean heavily on a star-studded six-man freshman class along with incoming graduate transfer Davion Mintz to handle most of the minutes vacated by Quickley, Hagans and Maxey.
