Leaving school for draft
Black announced Wednesday on ESPN's "NBA Today" program that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Arkansas to enter the 2023 NBA Draft, Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Black's decision to head to the professional ranks comes as little surprise, given that many outlets have gauged him as a likely lottery selection. A second-team all-Southeastern Conference selection during his freshman season, the 6-foot-7, 198-pound Black averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.1 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 34.3 minutes per game over 36 appearances. He becomes the fourth Arkansas player to declare for the draft, joining Nick Smith, Ricky Council and Davonte Davis. However, Council and Davis entered the draft while maintaining their collegiate eligibility, and both could conceivably return to Arkansas.
