Heads to Long Beach State
Washington announced Monday that he has committed to Long Beach State as a transfer from Iona, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Long Beach State will mark the third stop of Washington's collegiate career following a two-year stay at Minnesota followed by a one-year stint at Iona. As a junior in his lone season with the Gaels in 2019-20, Washington started in 23 of his 28 appearances and averaged 11.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.4 three-pointers in 33.3 minutes per contest. Since he isn't leaving Iona with his degree, Washington -- barring a waiver from the NCAA -- will have to sit out the 2020-21 season before debuting for Long Beach State in 2021-22 as a redshirt senior,
