I've had a month to evaluate the teams and, using a formula that involves algorithms, ratios, probability and a host of other highly complex mathematical terms that I truly do not understand, I am now able to correctly predict the outcome of games with a 99 and 44/100 degree of accuracy.
Maybe not, but with only nine games on the slate for tonight, I like these two the most (and am willing to wager your house on them):
Boston Red Sox -230
Boston (16-18, 10-9 H); Josh Beckett (2-1, 2.35, 0.86)
Minnesota (12-20, 8-14 A); Nick Blackburn (2-4, 4.41, 1.56)
Recent Trends: The Red Sox have won two of three meetings this season. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games following a win, and are 19-9 in Beckett's last 28 home starts. The Twins are 3-8 in their last 11 games, 3-8 in their last 11 on grass, and 1-9 in their last 10 in Boston.
Colorado Rockies -180
Colorado (18-14, 7-6 H); Jhoulys Chacin (4-2, 2.85, 1.15)
New York (15-19, 7-8 A); Chris Capuano (2-3, 5.40, 1.61)
Recent Trends: The Rockies have won all four meetings this season. The Mets are 5-11 in their last 16 games in Colorado, and 17-35 in their last 52 Monday games.
