-Did Todd Collins really finish 6-for-16 for 32 yards and four picks? How is he even a backup? I would have cut him immediately after the game yesterday
-Sticking with the struggling quarterback theme, the Browns might as well see what they have in Colt McCoy and let Jake Delhomme mentor him from the sideline.
-While he didn't see the end zone, Michael Turner owners can sleep easier after his 19-carry effort for 140 yards. Ditto for Chris Johnson owners. Speaking of that game, when do the heads start to roll in the big D?
-Josh Freeman had a better fantasy day that Peyton Manning or Matt Schaub. I'm quite sure it's time to stick a fork in Carson Palmer. Speaking of the Bucs/Bengals game, wasn't Calvin Johnson catch not ruled a TD against the Bears for not maintaining control throughout the play? How is that different from the Spurlock sideline catch, as the ball was definitely moving as he went to the ground?
-Nice to see Jamaal Charles and Chris Wells get majority of carries in their respective backfields yesterday. Despite a horrible YPC, Wells will be fine going forward and I'd guess he won't be complaining about the lack of touches this week.
-If I'm a Packers fan, I'm worried about the beating my team took yesterday. We'll have to wait on the MRI but Jermichael Finley's injury doesn't look like he'll be back on the field anytime soon.
-I'm guessing no team has ever scored 30 points without a rushing or passing TD as Arizona did to win yesterday. There were all kinds of clock mis-management over last minute of the game when the Saints had no timeouts. Then Arizona punts with time still left on the play clock instead of taking a five yard penalty for delay of game. Antonio Rodgers-Cromartie then insists on going for the end zone, ignoring the Nate Clement's debacle from a week ago. If you own one of the Saint's receivers, expect a season of frustration; Lance Moore had only one catch for eight yards yesterday.
-Especially in PPR leagues, Danny Amendola is now an attractive option given the likely season-ending injury to Mark Clayton. Sam Bradford didn't have the best day but anything he does this year is incredible considering the receiving corps he has to work with. I'm guessing the Rams will address that during the offseason.
-A lot of it was in garbage time but the Kyle Orton express keeps rolling.
-If you were redrafting today, wouldn't you have to put Roddy White and Miles Austin as the top-2 WRs? Hakeem Nicks wouldn't be to far behind, right?
-Fun fact: Rob (NE), Chris (Dallas) and Dan (Denver) Gronkowski are all brothers. The youngest sibling, Glenn, caught a TD pass, returned a fumble 65 yards for a TD, had three interceptions and kicked four extra points in a high school game on Saturday. I'm guessing he's on the radar of a lot of college teams.
-The Survivor pool was thinned pretty good (myself included) with Dallas, San Diego and Arizona all pulling off upsets. I've come to the conclusion that to be successful you have to pick your weeks of going against the herd and not be afraid to follow the herd on others. Unfortunately, this didn't work out for me this season.
-I liked the surprise onsides attempts yesterday; just make sure the ball goes 10 yards. Of course they weren't as bad as the Texas Tech attempt from Saturday.
-With the trade deadline looming, keep an eye on deals this week as I'd expect some teams to make some fantasy relevant moves over the next week.
-I'm not sure what to make of Alex Smith. At one point it looked like he could get benched and then he threw two bullets for TDs that Joe Montana couldn't have thrown any better. The 49ers also need to mix up the play calling. I'd have to go back and look but it seemed at least 90 percent of the first down plays were runs. There is something call play-action. Good to see Michael Crabtree finally get involved in the offense.
