Sacramento waived Head on Saturday, Kings.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head has a good chance at finding a reserve role with another team, though he's unlikely to be a fantasy factor wherever he goes. The arrival of Marcus Thornton made him redundant for the Kings.

Head was brought on board for one specific purpose – to hit three-point shots. In theory he could play a little point guard, but that's not one of his strengths. As such, he's pretty difficult to put on your fantasy roster, and his playing time is a threat to disappear at any given moment.
With Brent Barry in the fold, Head's role as combo guard/three-point specialist likely takes a hit this year.
Head’s run as a useful source of threes and scoring has likely come to a close, due to the Rockets’ offseason backcourt shopping spree. With Steve Francis, Mike James and Aaron Brooks added to a mix that already included Head, Tracy McGrady, Rafer Alston and Bonzi Wells, it’s hard to recommend any Rocket guard other than McGrady – at least, until the inevitable trade/waiver happens. But watch for updates… on a team in need of bench offense, Head could easily return to fantasy relevance in a hurry.
Head was in over his head last season as he was forced to log big minutes due to injuries. Expect him to play a lesser role backing up both guard spots in 2006-07. He'll get some threes and steals if he plays, but unless someone gets hurt, his minutes will be scarce.
Another rookie point guard, but one who is potentially in a much better situation as far as playing time. Houston ran a parade of guys through the one spot last season, and none of them distinguished themselves. Head is a hard-nosed Jeff Van Gundy-type player who could thrive for the Rockets if given the opportunity.
