Rabb finished off his rookie season by parlaying extended minutes into four double-digit scoring efforts over his last five games. The 6-foot-11 big averaged 5.6 points and 4.4 rebounds across 14.3 minutes over 36 games, and he could be headed for a similar degree of opportunity in the coming season. First-round pick Jaren Jackson and capable veteran Omri Casspi were added to a frontcourt that already includes JaMychal Green and Marc Gasol, an influx of talent that could be enough to neutralize Rabb’s quest for a bump in minutes. For what it’s worth, the Grizzlies also invested a Summer League spot in Rabb, who responded with averages of 11.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 23 games in two Utah games, and 9.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 22.0 minutes in three Las Vegas contests.
