After a three-year layoff from the NBA where he spent time overseas, Crawford signed a pair of 10-day deals with the Pelicans in March before inking a contract for the rest of the season. Over the last 19 games of the season, Crawford played a relatively sizable role for the Pelicans, averaging 14.1 points, 3.0 assists and 1.9 three-pointers across 23.3 minutes. It was his three-point shooting that was his main calling card, as the 28-year-old wing shot a solid 38.9 percent from deep. Back with the Pelicans for his first full season, Crawford is expected to once again provide a scoring threat off the bench. He can play both shooting guard and small forward, giving the Pelicans some flexibility. With the addition of Rajon Rondo, Jrue Holiday is expected to get more time at shooting guard, which could cut into Crawford's playing time. That likely means Crawford will have a hard time approaching the 23.3 minutes he averaged a year prior, though he's proven in the past he can score quickly in short spurts.
Crawford was traded for last year when the Celtic roster was devastated by injuries. He is now one of many young guns (including MarShon Brooks, Avery Bradley and Phil Pressey) trying to prove they deserve legitimate NBA playing time. With Rajon Rondo out until probably winter, the C's are very thin in the front-court. But when Rondo returns, we'll see if the Celtics keep Crawford. In the past, Crawford has struggled with the team concepts of tough defense and making the extra pass.
Crawford saw one competitor for minutes leave and another arrive. Last season, Nick Young was traded away, but the Wizards drafted Beal with the third pick in the 2012 draft. Crawford has been talking a good game about the Wizards' drafting of Beal, but his playing time should be dented with his arrival. Without Wall to begin the season and Beal getting his legs wet, Crawford might still receive similar minutes to last year's 27.4, but that could change as the season goes on.
Crawford lit it up last year after changing cities in a trade from the Hawks. He averaged 16.3 points, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals in 33 minutes per game with the Wizards. The problem for Crawford was his 39 percent shooting from the field. Despite the low efficiency, Crawford definitely had the green light, shooting 16.3 times per game. With a year under his belt, Crawford could steal the starting gig from Nick Young and raise his averages from a year ago. Crawford can provide value in points, assists and steals, and owners should be able to wait on him a little in their drafts.
Atlanta had Crawford fall on their lap with the 27th overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft. Crawford was an electric scorer in college, averaging 20.5 points in his sophomore season at Xavier. He’s an excellent shooter with the ability to step back and nail threes at the NBA distance, making him the heir apparent to Jamal Crawford. Crawford won’t have a big role during his first season, but he’s a legit talent worth monitoring for future campaigns.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Available in BIG3 Draft
GFree Agent
May 24, 2022
Crawford is one of several former NBA players that have been added to the upcoming 2022 BIG3 Draft, according to the league's official website.
ANALYSIS
Crawford has become a viral sensation after putting up crazy scoring numbers overseas, but he hasn't played in the NBA since the 2017-18 campaign, and he hasn't started a game in The Association since the 2013-14 season when he was playing for the Celtics. With that in mind, and considering he's already 33 years old, it's not surprising to see him set to compete in the BIG3 over the summer.
