After bouncing around on a few non-guaranteed contracts after leaving the Bucks, O'Bryant had a nice run in the G-League last season, which he translated into a fully guaranteed contract with the Hornets. While that doesn't mean he'll be a fixture in the rotation, O'Bryant will at least have some security for the first time in his career. Even so, the LSU product can be safely ignored in most Fantasy formats, barring multiple injuries to the Hornets' frontcourt.
After a less-than-encouraging rookie season, O'Bryant looks to figure very little in the Bucks' plans in the coming year. In his rookie season, he averaged 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds over 34 games. O'Bryant started 15 games, mostly as a fill-in after Jabari Parker went down with a torn ACL, but he rarely played in key situations. He struggled to score effectively, often settling for inefficient jumpers or turning the ball over. With Parker back healthy, O'Bryant's minutes will become even more scarce in 2015-16, and it's entirely possible that he'll be released at some point.
The Bucks snared the rookie out of LSU with the 36th-overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. O'Bryant averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 30 minutes per game as a junior last season. A former McDonald's All-American, O'Bryant was a two-time All-SEC First Team selection and started 79 of 91 career collegiate games. At 6-9, 255, Bryant is already built like an NBA power forward, though he'll likely require a significant adjustment period. He certainly looked the part of a rookie at the Las Vegas Summer League and will need time to adjust to the speed of the pro game. Heading into the season, O'Bryant projects as Milwaukee's fourth or fifth power forward behind Ersan Ilyasova, Jabari Parker, John Henson, and Khris Middleton. He could see time at center in certain situations, but an injury or two would probably need to arise before that happens. In all likelihood, 2014-15 will be more of a developmental year for O'Bryant, particularly considering the Bucks' current frontcourt logjam.
