After playing just 47 games with New Orleans a year prior, Babbitt had a bounce-back campaign with the Heat in 2016-17. He played in 68 games, including 55 starts, while averaging 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers across 15.7 minutes. It wasn't a great workload even when he was starting, which limited his overall impact in the box score. After the Heat decided against extending his contract, Babbitt hit the open free agent market and eventually locked in a one-year, $1.9 million contract with the Hawks. With the Hawks in full rebuild mode, Babbitt should be a part of the regular rotation, although only a modest bump in playing time should be expected. The Hawks are expected to start Ersan Ilyasova at power forward and they also drafted John Collins with the 19th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, which means Babbitt will likely have to settle for splitting minutes off the bench. His biggest strength continues to be his three-point shooting and he shot an impressive 41.4 percent from deep with the Heat, but his all-around production elsewhere will need to improve drastically to become a more relevant Fantasy option.
