Jonas Jerebko

Jerebko arguably had his least productive campaign of his career last season in Boston, posting 3.8 points and 3.5 rebounds across 15.8 minutes per game while shooting 43.5 percent from the field and going 45-for-130 (34.6 percent) from deep. At 6-foot-10, he’s been regulated to primarily a stretch-four over the past few seasons, as he’s made 38.3 percent of his three-point attempts since 2013-14. Jerebko could see a boost in workload with the Jazz heading into next season despite being behind Derrick Favors at the power forward slot. Favors can play some backup center, allowing for some open time at the four, which Jerebko can help fill in. He’s seemingly also the team’s only stretch-four, boding well for his potential playing time. It’s possible, then, that he could see legitimate sixth-man minutes, inherently boosting his Fantasy value. That said, he’s not a high-volume scorer by any means, and should be viewed as a solid rebounder who can knock down a couple threes. The 30-year-old can still probably be passed up in many Fantasy formats, though could be someone to take a look at in deeper formats if he slides down the draft board.

Jerebko was a valuable contributor off the bench last season for a deep Celtics team, averaging 4.4 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range. The 29-year-old appeared in 78 contests, seeing the majority of his action at power forward, though he was also used on the wing in larger lineups. Jerebko's versatility is perhaps his best attribute, and he'll again be asked to wear multiple hats this season. However, with the arrival of rookie Jaylen Brown, Jerebko will likely play less on the wing and more as a stretch four, where he's expected to back up projected starter Kelly Olynyk. Jared Sullinger's departure figures to open up more opportunities for the reserves, but Jerebko will have to fend off competition from more traditional big men Tyler Zeller and Amir Johnson. All in all, Jerebko's minutes load is unlikely to climb much higher than the 15.1 per game he averaged last season, rendering him a nominal fantasy commodity in most formats.

Like many fellow Celtics, Jerebko's career took a positive upturn once he donned the green and white after a mid-season trade. The Swedish Larry Bird averaged 18 minutes per game for Boston, after spending a year and a half at the end of the Pistons' bench. While the Larry Bird comparison is obviously an exaggeration, Jerebko's ability to stretch the floor and hustle on defense clearly pleases both coach Brad Stevens and the Boston Garden home crowd. In 29 games with Boston, Jerebko ended the season with averages of 7.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.9 three-pointers, 1.0 assist, and 0.7 steals per game. He enters his sixth year in the Association with a new two-year contract with Boston. He'll be expected to bring energy off the bench at both forward positions, though he'll more likely see more time at the three due to the acquisitions of David Lee and Amir Johnson.

When healthy, Jerebko has been a regular part of the Pistons rotation over his first three seasons, but the Swedish forward took a step back last year and was often times cemented near the end of the bench. Jerebko posted career-low averages across the board during the 2013-14 season, finishing marks of 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11 minutes per game while appearing in 64 contests. The signing of Josh Smith and emergence of Kyle Singler ate into Jerebko's playing time, as the team had a more expensive (Smith) and more effective (Singler) option to plug into the role Jerebko used to play. New Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy values stretch-four types, and while Jerebko has never been a volume shooter from downtown, his 42-percent clip from three-point land last season does hint that he could fit the role. Even if Jerebko does surprise and regain a foothold in the Pistons' rotation during his fifth season, the team's frontcourt depth (Smith, Singler, Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond, Caron Butler, Luigi Datome) should mean a limited role for Jerebko.

After two promising seasons to tip-off his career, Jerebko took a step back last year. Jerebko played a career-low 18 mpg while posting the worst statistical production of his career. He's an energetic player with the ability to bang down low or step out and hit the occasional three, but Jerebko doesn't possess any one elite skill that allows him to flourish at the NBA level. The 26-year-old Swedish forward will battle for limited playing time off the bench with Charlie Villanueva.

After missing the entire 2010-11 season with an Achilles injury, Jerebko returned at full strength for the Pistons last year. In 64 games, Jerebko averaged 8.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.5 threes in 23 mpg. The 25-year-old Swede can play both forward positions, using his high-energy to perform well at the four while also displaying the necessary athleticism and outside shooting to be a quality option at small forward. He’ll likely split his time between the two positions again this year, with the possible opportunity to play more at the three as the season wears down.

After an impressive rookie campaign, Jerebko missed the entire 2010-11 campaign with a torn right Achilles. Now back at full strength, Jerebko figures to be an important cog in the Pistons’ frontcourt rotation. The energetic Swede has a balanced offensive game, with the ability to bang in the post while also having enough touch to step back and hit the occasional trey. His hustle on the other end of the court results in decent contributions in rebounding (6.0) and steals (1.0). The 24-year-old tweener should see a solid amount of run while playing time at both forward positions.

Jerebko was one of the surprise players from last year’s rookie class. After a rash of injuries hit the Pistons early in the season, Jerebko was able to carve out a starting gig, averaging 9.3 points and 6.0 rebounds. Unfortunately he’s now dealing with a torn Achilles’ tendon, suffered in the preseason opener that will keep him out 5-to-6 months and potentially the entire season. It’s a tough injury for Jerebko, but it should not be a crippling loss for the Pistons.

Jerebko was selected 39th overall by the Pistons in the 2009 NBA draft. He's expected to make the Pistons' opening night roster, but his playing time will be limited at both forward positions.
