ANALYSIS
Vujacic, who appeared in just 42 games with the Knicks during 2016-17 largely due to DNP-CDs, seemingly did not find another NBA suitor to take a shot on him. When he played, he posted 3.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 9.7 minutes per game while shooting 30.9 percent from the field. Considering he's over 30-years-old, it seems doubtful he'll make another NBA return.

Vujacic is the rare role player who has lost the ability to fill his role. Long regarded as strictly a three-point shooter, Vujacic’s putrid 31 percent three-point percentage last season eliminated both his minutes and any fantasy value he may have had. Expect him to see a hefty dose of DNP-CD’s.
The sixth-year pro remains a true role player for Jackson and the Lakers. Minutes are limited due to the talent ahead of him; however, consistent long-range shooting and hard-nosed perimeter defense may result in some extra opportunities. If and when that happens, there could be some reasons to consider snatching Vujacic off the wire as a reserve.
Vujacic emerged as a key reserve for the Lakers last season, and during the playoffs was – at times – one of their most effective players. The biggest example: Game 3 of the Finals, when Vujacic exploded for 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He drew interest from a number of European clubs in the offseason, but the Lakers ponied up a three-year, $15 million contract to retain his services. Even as a top reserve, he’ll be hard-pressed to average double-figures on a stacked Laker team, but he could emerge as a good source of threes.
Vujacic was largely a disappointment last year, and the team’s patience may be running out on the fourth-year guard. He topped double digits in scoring only five times last year, which was less than the number of DNP-CDs he logged during the year. The acquisition of Derek Fisher and draft of Javaris Crittenton should mean even less playing time for Vujacic than last year’s 12.8 minutes per game, and we would suggest that fantasy players look elsewhere for guard help.
Vujacic is entering his third year, and will be given every chance to earn significant point-guard minutes for the Lakers. At 6-7, he is much taller than most league point guards, and is reportedly a favorite of coach Phil Jackson. While we wouldn't suggest that you draft Vujacic until later rounds, if at all, he may prove to be a valuable late-season pickup as he earns more playing time.
Vujacic was the 27th overall pick in this year's draft and is a nice combo guard. Vujacic might be the team's long-term option at point guard but needs to improve his strength and quickness to have an impact this season. Still, expect Vujacic to give Johnson a run for his money for the backup point guard role.
