Lue, who was traded from Milwaukee to Orlando on Thursday, made his Magic debut in Sunday's victory over New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Anthony Johnson will start while Jameer Nelson (shoulder) is out, but Lue gives the Magic a quicker alternative to Johnson and a better handle than rookie Courtney Lee. He played a little more than two minutes on Sunday, but will gain a larger share of the backup minutes.

Valuable from a leadership and experience standpoint, but not so much from a fantasy perspective. Lue is a little man and big-shot maker, but will clearly be the No. 3 point guard behind Ridnour and Sessions.
Like Speedy Claxton, Lue also had arthroscopic surgery on his knee this summer. Lue brings a different skill set to the table than Claxton, as he's shown he can be a scorer if given the chance, but doesn't play the defense or hand out the assists that Claxton does. The Hawks have one too many point guards on the roster, and someone like Lue might be attractive to a contender that needs point guard depth. If he sticks with the Hawks, he'll likely back up Claxton and play about 20 minutes a night.
Lue will be Atlanta's backup at point guard, but with Speedy Claxton's injury history, he could eventually move into the starting lineup or at least get more minutes than your average backup. He's quick, defends well, and keeps the turnovers down.
Lue, who played passably in 2004-05 as the team's starting point guard, should see a reduced role this season as Joe Johnson will man the position in '05-'06. If Johnson struggles to make the switch to floor general, there's a good chance that he'll see much of his playing time at the two, with Lue absorbing the extra minutes as the team's primary ball handler.
Lue will likely split minutes with Charlie Ward at the point. He'll be good for a few assists and some threes, but don't expect consistent production out of the journeyman.
Lue was signed to a two-year deal by the Magic in the offseason with hopes that he was assert himself as the starting point guard. He doesn't have much competition for the job, so that shouldn't be a worry. Lue is a solid ball-handler with decent shooting range. Lue has never averaged more than 26.5 minutes a game (last season's career-high), so it will be interesting to see how he holds up getting the majority of the starts and minutes for the Magic at the point.
