FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

This Sunday the NBA schedule is loaded with a whopping 22 teams in action. There are such a wide selection of value plays for you fill your fantasy plate today, that by end of this article you'll be burping. As always, all players listed below are under the $6,000 threshold to help build value into your daily fantasy rosters. Here's a look at today's value plays.

Sunday Value Plays

Point Guard

Ish Smith, PHI, $5,700 Smith had been outplaying Isaiah Canaan from the backup spot since joining the Sixers in late February, and has just kept climbing. He began his time in Philly by forcing his way into a timeshare, which then turned to him playing alongside Canaan late in games, and has now finally resulted in him grabbing the starting job altogether. His speed and penetration skills are very tough for opponents to deal with, and it's shown up in the box scores, with Smith averaging 15.3 points per game and 7.0 assists in the past week. Look for that trend to continue in a juicy matchup this Sunday against the Lakers.

Rajon Rondo, DAL, $5,900: It may have taken quite a while, but Rondo is finally beginning to resemble the Boston version of himself out there in Dallas. Rondo is nearly averaging a double-double over the past week, with 10.0 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, and 9.3 assists over that span. He finds himself in a great position to continue his increased production today against the Suns, who have struggled to defend opposing points guards since Brandon Knight left the lineup due to injury. They are allowing 25.2 points per game to that position in the past five games, which means it's time to roll with Rondo this Sunday on FanDuel.

Shooting Guard

Bradley Beal, WAS, $5,900: Beal seems to have regained the shooting stroke he's been known for throughout his career, picking up his season scoring average of 14.8 points per game over the past week to 16.7 points per game along with 4.3 assists. Shooting guard defense has been a weak spot all season for his opponent, Ben McLemore and the Sacramento Kings, who enter today third-worst in the NBA in points allowed at that position at 23.2 points per game. Beal is a safe-floor, high-ceiling play that fantasy owners should love to slide into their DFS lineups today.

Small Forward

Gerald Henderson, CHA, $5,400: The small forward has gotten a bit tougher as of late for our purposes, as some of favorite value plays like Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari have finally seen their price points rise at or above the $6K level on FanDuel. Enter Gerald Henderson, who makes for the prototypical cash game play today. He isn't sexy, and is unlikely to blow up for 50 fantasy points, but is solid and consistent, scoring exactly 20 points in two of his last four games while chipping in across the board in the other categories. The matchup today puts this play over the top, with the Minnesota Timberwolves coming in second-to-last in points allowed to opposing small forwards at 20.3 points per game. Henderson is a good bet for 25 fantasy points or more this Sunday.

Power Forward

Anthony Tolliver, DET, $4,900: If you're looking for a good comp for Tolliver, think about Stan Van Gundy back in Orlando, then think about how he deployed Ryan Anderson. Greg Monroe looks to be out again today with a knee injury, which should result in Tolliver getting the starting nod again against the Celtics. Tolliver is definitely more a boom-or-bust play, making him better suited for GPP's than cash games, but he's a cheap option in average matchup defensively, and gives you the salary flexibility to roll a certain expensive player out there in Oklahoma City into your lineups if you're looking to do so..

Marcus Morris, PHX, $5,200: Morris makes this list for the second Sunday in a row and deservedly so. He's had no problem beating the price tag all week long, posting a double-double last night against Houston along with a 20-point performance last Sunday against New York. It certainly helps that Dallas has been terrible defending the small forward as of late, allowing the second-most points to that position in the last five contests at 26.6 points allowed per game. Until the price rises to the mid-$6K range, Morris should almost be an automatic play in DFS lineups.

Center

Alexis Ajinca, NO, $4,900: Ajinca will be a viable fantasy option today provided that either Omer Asik (calf) or Anthony Davis (ankle) miss today's game with their latest injuries. He can be foul prone, but Ajinca is a load inside as a legit 7-footer, and was able to put up 15 points, eight rebounds and a block in just 19 minutes against the best team in the NBA in the Golden State Warriors. For all the pub the DeAndre Jordan gets defensively, the Clippers have ranked in the bottom five in points allowed to opposing centers all season long. Ajinca makes for a nice plug-and-play option this Sunday.
