FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are only four games in the NBA on Monday, leaving you with less options than normal for your FanDuel entry. That doesn't mean you can't end the night a winner though, so let's take a look at some players with favorable matchups who can hopefully help you finish the night with some extra money in your pocket.

Guards

Damian Lillard, POR vs. MIA ($9,500): The Blazers have won nine straight games and Lillard has been one of the main reasons for their success, scoring at least 41.8 FanDuel points in six of his last seven games. He is tied for the tenth-highest usage rate (30.5%) in the league and averages 37 minutes per contest, so he's normally going to get plenty of opportunities to be productive. He's expensive, but he is certainly one of the best options at point guard Monday.

C.J. McCollum, POR vs. MIA ($7,300): McCollum combines with Lillard to form one of the more potent backcourts in the league, scoring at least 31.8 FanDuel points in five straight games. Most of his value comes from his ability to score, but he is averaging a career-high four rebounds per game this season. He sees heavy playing time like Lillard, averaging 36 minutes per contest. There aren't any elite options at shooting guard Monday outside of James Harden, so McCollum could be in line for one of the bigger performances from the position.

Ben McLemore, MEM vs. MIL ($5,000): The Grizzlies are going to be short-handed again Monday with Tyreke Evans (ribs), Andrew Harrison (wrist) and Mario Chalmers (hamstring) all out. McLemore has played at least 30 minutes in four of his last five games due to their injuries, scoring at least 31.4 FanDuel points in all four of those contests. If you're looking for a cheaper guard, McLemore might be your man.

Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at MEM ($11,900): Giannis has one of the highest floors in DFS, scoring at least 51.5 FanDuel points in four of his last five games. He went through a brief period where he was struggling from the field, but he is shooting 50% through five games in March. His 31.4% usage rate is sixth-highest in the league, leaving him with enough opportunities to provide value Monday even if this game gets out of hand against a Grizzlies team that has lost a staggering 17 straight contests.

Kelly Olynyk, MIA at POR ($5,100): The Heat are going to be without Hassan Whiteside (hip) Monday, leaving a significant hole up front. Whiteside did not play in Saturday's game against the Wizards either, a contest where Olynyk scored 36.2 FanDuel points. Even is Bam Adebayo starts in place of Whiteside again Monday as he did Saturday, Olynyk should have an increased role as well.

Davis Bertans, SA at HOU ($4,400): The Spurs will be without LaMarcus Aldridge (knee) on Monday, which will likely leave more minutes for Bertans. Both Aldridge and Pau Gasol have been banged up at times lately, which has resulted in Bertans scoring at least 19.9 FanDuel points in five straight games. His upside is limited, but he's still someone to consider in tournament play.

Centers

Marc Gasol, MEM vs. MIL ($7,800): As the Grizzlies continue to plummet down the standings, they have started resting Gasol for certain games. He did not play Saturday against the Mavericks, but he is expected to return Monday. He's continued to be productive when he does take the floor, scoring at least 33.3 FanDuel points in six straight games. The Bucks allow the fifth-most FanDuel points per game (54.3) to opposing centers, leaving Gasol with a high upside Monday.

Willie Cauley-Stein, SAC at OKC ($7,200): Cauley-Stein had missed four straight games with a back injury, but returned to play 30 minutes off the bench Sunday against the Nuggets. He fell two rebounds shy of a double-double, finishing with 29.1 FanDuel points. He's played well when healthy, scoring at least 34.1 FanDuel points in four of six games before he suffered the injury. As long he plays Monday, he's a viable option for your entry.

Jusuf Nurkic, POR vs. MIA ($6,000): Nurkic is not a consistent option by any means. In his last nine games, he scored at least 33.4 FanDuel points five times. However, he scored 22.6 FanDuel points or fewer in three of the other four games. The good news for him is that with Whiteside out Monday, the Heat will be without their best rebounder and rim protector. On a night with few viable cheap options, Nurkic is someone to consider.
