Ramirez could miss the rest of the season for Triple-A Rochester after suffering a fractured fibula when he fouled a ball off his lower leg on Thursday, the Rochester Democrat & Chornicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Ramirez must be unlucky because he missed the final month of the 2013 season with the same injury. He was hitting .232/.238/.387 in 43 games for Rochester. He's settled in as a Triple-A depth player at this point in his career.

He hit .267/.307/.458 with 11 home runs in 81 games at Triple-A Gwinnett last season. He'll try to win a reserve role with the Twins this spring, but likely just adds depth at Triple-A.
Ramirez has been tantalizing scouts with his combination of power and speed for years and 2009 was no different. He racked up 17 home runs and 33 steals in his first full season with Triple-A Toledo. He once again struggled with strikeouts though, finishing with 142 in 112 games. Despite the struggles with his plate discipline, the 24-year-old outfielder has proven to be a legitimate five-tool prospect and could have a shot at making the roster with a solid showing in spring training.
The Tigers consider Ramirez a five-tool prospect. He's one of the faster players in their system and one of the top power hitters, according to team officials. Originally a third baseman, the Tigers moved him to the outfield a few years ago and he has settled in nicely. Ramirez enjoyed a breakout season at the plate last year, hitting .303 with 24 doubles, 19 home runs, seven triples, 73 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 110 games at Double-A Erie. He is slated to open the year at Triple-A Toledo and could find himself in Detroit before the year is out if things break right.
Ramirez missed all of 2004 after tearing the labrum in his throwing shoulder. He returned to action at Single-A West Michigan last season and posted some solid power numbers at only 19 years old. He'll need to work on his batting eye to be successful at higher levels but the potential is there.
Ramirez missed all of 2004 after tearing the labrum in his throwing shoulder. Considered a solid offensive prospect but needs to stay healthy.
