Rolling after bump to Double-A
Hunt has a 2.70 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB in 26.2 innings over his first five starts for Double-A Biloxi.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-3 righty opened the year at Single-A Carolina and was quickly promoted to High-A Wisconsin in mid-May. From there, Hunt's dominance continued, with him posting a 2.15 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 68 strikeouts in 50.1 innings before getting promoted to Double-A on Aug. 6. Hunt is one of the top pop-up pitching prospects in the game, as the No. 350 overall pick from 2022 came into the year with very little hype, given that he was already 23 and had no full-season experience. His success is largely due to his plus slider and strong command, as Hunt's fastball is a low-90s offering that misses few bats.
