2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Farmelo has only played 46 official games since the Mariners drafted him 29th overall in 2023, but he's shown an exciting fantasy upside and could be in store for a breakout 2025, even though he isn't expected to be ready for the start of the season. The tooled up center fielder did not play in regular season games in 2023 due to a concussion, but he starred in a the California League playoffs late that year. In 2024, he slashed .264/.398/.421 with four home runs, 18 steals, a 16.3 percent walk rate and a 23.5 percent strikeout rate in 46 games for Single-A Modesto before tearing his ACL in mid-June. His combination of 70-grade speed and 60-grade raw power is exciting, especially after he showed a patient approach in his pro debut. Accessing all of his power in games is still a work in progress, but he has a physical 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame and has the talent to finish his age-20 season as a top-25 prospect. Expected to miss half of 2025
Farmelo (knee) is not expected to be able to play until midseason in 2025, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Farmelo suffered a torn ACL in his right knee in June and it'll apparently keep him sidelined for a chunk of the 2025 campaign. The 20-year-old produced a .264 average with four home runs, 25 RBI, 38 runs scored and 18 stolen bases over 178 at-bats in 45 games with Single-A Modesto before sustaining the injury in 2024.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Farmelo was one of three prep position players to receive at least a $2.5 million bonus from the Mariners after being selected in the 22-30 overall range of the 2023 draft. Unlike his new org. mates Colt Emerson and Tai Peete, Farmelo didn't get into a regular-season game after signing due to a concussion, so he doesn't have any official stats, but but he did hit a clutch home run during Single-A Modesto's run to a California League postseason title. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound center fielder is a plus-plus runner who projects to be a quality defender. It's easy to envision him developing 25-homer power, and the big question is how good of a pure hitter he will turn into.
