2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bloss was part of the return the Jays received after sending Kikuchi to Houston at the deadline. Bloss began the season in A ball but pitched in all four classifications of minor legaue ball around a brief stint of major league work for the Astros in the middle of the summer around an IL stint due to shoulder discomfort. Bloss, in total, worked 105 innings over five different levels of professional baseball. In that time, he allowed fewer hits thatn innings pitched, but offset that with 39 walks and 13 homers. Bloss has a standard repertoire with his breaking stuff being the best of the bunch in his limited major league time. The escalated rush through the system shows his talent level, but at 23 years old, he still needs more time to fully develop his arsenal as this past season was his first full professional season after matriculating at a few colleges. The Toronto rotation seems rather set with Bloss on the outside looking int, but will very likely be the first guy called up when the staff needs to cover for injuries in the rotation. Could get call-up in September
Bloss could be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in September if the Blue Jays elect to go with a six-man rotation during the final month of the season, Kaitlyn McGrath of the Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Acquired in July in the deal that sent Yusei Kikuchi to Houston, Bloss has made three starts for Buffalo in August, tossing 9.2 scoreless innings with an 8:5 K:BB. The 23-year-old right-hander is in his first full professional season after being a third-round pick of the Astros in 2023, so Toronto is keeping an eye on his workload, but he's only thrown 75.2 innings so far across four levels -- he started the year at High-A Asheville. A regular turn in September could set Bloss up for a full-time spot in the Blue Jays rotation in 2025.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected up in September
The Blue Jays plan to call up Bloss at some point in September, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Bloss was not part of the Blue Jays' initial Sept. 1 promotions, but he's expected to get a look eventually and likely make a few starts for them down the stretch. Acquired from the Astros in the Yusei Kikuchi trade at the summer deadline, Bloss was roughed up for eight runs over 1.2 innings in his last outing with Triple-A Buffalo, although he had turned in three scoreless starts prior to that.
