ANALYSIS
The 2015 second-round pick opened 2021 at Double-A but has been let go after posting a .155/.269/.310 slash line with 33 strikeouts in 67 plate appearances. Lindsay was unable to live up to his draft pedigree and has mostly been stuck in the lower minors.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2018
2017
After showing a lot of promise in a 32-game run in the New York-Penn League in 2016, Lindsay looked quite ordinary in his full-season debut before his season was cut short in late July due to ulnar nerve (elbow) surgery. He continued to walk at an excellent clip (13.1 percent), but his strikeout rate spiked from 19.4 percent to 30.7 percent. That massive spike along with a 60-point drop in BABIP (down to .298) explains how such a promising hitter only managed a .220 average in his age-20 season. Once considered a plus runner, Lindsay has filled out his 5-foot-11, 196-pound frame and managed just four steals on six attempts. He will contribute on the bases going forward, but may struggle to chip in more than 10-to-15 steals over a full season. On the bright side, he still has plus raw power and his all-fields approach is very impressive for a hitter his age. He can be thrown back in leagues where 150-200 prospects are rostered, but should be on watch lists in all dynasty formats.
Drafted in the second round out of high school in 2015, Lindsay has the physical gifts to become a five-tool player, but for now he remains largely projection-centered. Lindsey played limited games in the Rookie League and short-season New York-Penn League for the second straight season as he again battled leg injuries. Perhaps the biggest takeaway from a small sample size of numbers is that he had almost as many walks (20) as strikeouts (26) in 32 games for Brooklyn. If he can stay healthy, 2017 could be the year Lindsay finally tries his hand at full-season ball, but expect a learning curve as he adjusts to the jump in talent. Lindsey has an extremely high ceiling but is still a ways off from making an impact at the big league level.
