Last season was up and down for Albers. While the veteran right-hander pitched well during multiple stretches throughout the year -- including a 15-game stretch after the All-Star break during which he picked up three saves, three holds and a win while allowing one run across 13.1 innings -- his propensity for blowup outings pushed his ERA north of five (5.13) for a second consecutive season (both with the Brewers). Albers coughed up at least one run in 18 of his 67 appearances in 2019, while he yielded multiple runs in nine of those appearances. His struggles against lefties continued, as left-handed hitters combined for a .965 OPS against Albers in 2019, though he held right-handed batters to a .629 OPS. Entering his age-37 season, Albers, who is a free agent this offseason, should be able to find work somewhere as a middle reliever.
