Rest-of-Season Projections
Placed on 10-day IL
Kazmir was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain Friday.
ANALYSIS
Kazmir was removed from Thursday's start against the Dodgers due to the hamstring issue, and the injury is serious enough to warrant a trip to the injured list. The southpaw was far from a lock to make the Giants' postseason roster, but it's not yet clear when he'll be healthy enough to return.

Kid K is now 35 years old, and likely done as a major leaguer. He was cut by Atlanta just before the 2018 season began and didn't find a new home last season. It was a weird career path for Kazmir, who came blazing out of the gates with Tampa Bay, left the sport and was working on television and movie production sets before re-starting his career with the Sugarland Skeeters and eventually making it back to the big leagues. If he throws another major-league pitch, it would be in a LOOGY role as his fastball looked rather lifeless the last time we saw him on the mound. A new arm angle is about the last trick he has left in the book if he wants to try to make one more go of it.

ANALYSIS
Kazmir hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016, and last we heard of him, he failed to make Atlanta's 2018 roster after dealing with arm fatigue late in spring training that year. The 36-year-old lefty has a career record of 108-96 to go with a 4.01 ERA, but it's unclear if he has anything left in the tank at this point.
