Drew Gagnon

Gagnon reached the majors for the first time as a 28-year-old in 2018, making one start and four relief appearances and finishing with a 5.25 ERA. His opportunity was due more to a lack of other options for the Mets rather than a breakout on his part, as he recorded an unremarkable 4.57 ERA in 27 starts with Triple-A Las Vegas. He did post a strong 25.8% strikeout rate at that level, though that number fell to 14.3% in the majors. With a fastball that sits at a modest 92 mph, no standout secondaries and a mediocre 8.9% walk rate, there's little reason to believe that he'll take a significant step forward this season. If the Mets' season goes according to plan, it's hard to see Gagnon throwing too many innings.
