Mesa re-signed with the Blue Jays on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
ANALYSIS
Mesa split time between the organization's Double-A and Triple-A levels this season, but struggled mightily after earning the promotion to the tune of a .215/.259/.358 slash line with 89 strikeouts with Triple-A Buffalo. The outfielder will likely continue to serve simply as organizational depth.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2012
2011
Mesa is an impressive defensive outfielder with good raw tools, but he'll be 25 when the 2012 season starts and he will likely repeat Double-A, putting his major league future in doubt.  Mesa hit just .251 at Trenton in 2011, with nine homers and 16 steals. He can hit fastballs, but looks overmatched by even decent breaking stuff. He's going to have make some major adjustments in 2012 to move up the organizational ladder.
He's raw, but Mesa is a terrific athlete with both power and speed. Although he still struggles to make consistent contact, he is improving in that area, dropping his strikeout rate while increasing his average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage last season. He'll likely spend most of the 2011 season at Double-A Trenton.
